We have appointed former FA County Coach Developer and Stoke City footballer Jamie Godbold to our team of experts.
Since retiring from professional football, Godbold has spent the past 18 years in various coaching roles starting at Norwich City Community Sports Foundation before making the move to the FA where he was deployed as a specialist foundation phase skills coach before moving into the Coach Education department. Throughout that time Godbold has continued playing non-league football and served as manager of Lowestoft Town, AFC Sudbury, Kirkley & Pakefield and Wroxham.
He is now considered a leading specialist coach educator, working with grassroots level coaches on the technical and tactical side of coaching both in training and competition. Godbold tutored many graduates through various licences (FA Youth Modules, Level 1, Level 2, UEFA B and Futsal) hosted across the country and was a popular member of the teaching staff for coaches.
Godbold joins our MiMentor team of expert practitioners who offer tailored digital resources and guidance via the interactive online learning platform.
“I’ve followed the platform for a long time and had the opportunity to attend some workshops over lockdown which I was really impressed with. I like that it’s all information that you can trust, that is backed up by research and customised to the audience,” he said.
“It’s a new challenge and I’m looking forward to being able to offer coaches a deeper, more technical level of understanding around what they do and why they do it. Rather than picking a coaching session off the internet, I want to give them the know-how to go beyond that and create tactical, effective sessions that they can adapt and deliver at their level.”
Godbold is a UEFA A Licence coach and current manager of Lowestoft Town FC.
The MiMentor portal hosts exclusive pay-per-module programmes and also features free modules so anyone can sign up and give it a go. Furthermore, during this calendar year we have a number of unique webinars that users can access for free, but also in the future all users can engage directly with the experts with the popular webinar series ‘Ask the Mentor’.
