But what do we mean by ‘Mental Health’?
We all experience ‘mental health’. It’s dynamic, it goes up and down for all of us depending on our current circumstances. Most of the time we can manage these ups and downs from our own coping abilities and without support from others around us.
However, at times we do require the support of others. These relationships are key, especially for young people.
It is reported that both athletic and non-athletic individuals experience similar rates of mental illness regardless of their participation in sports.
However, sports also offer its own mental health stressors that athletes are vulnerable to. On a daily basis, a player can experience a range of specific stressors within the sporting environment.
At MiMentor, we are committed to helping football coaches and players to develop, but that’s not just from a technical or tactical point of view.
With our team of expert mentors, our courses are aimed at supporting all areas of the game – many of which can often be overlooked, particularly when it comes to mental health and wellbeing.
This week we celebrated World Mental Health Day with the theme ‘make Mental Health and Wellbeing for all a global priority’.
So here at MiMentor, we wanted to remind you of the courses and free resources that will help you to develop your understanding of mental health and wellbeing and to support those around you.
We have a series of courses and free resources below that will help coaches, players and anyone involved in the game develop their understanding of mental health and wellbeing and support those around them…
These are available to enrol on individually, and all are included as part of a MiMentor Subscription, which is FREE for the first seven days.
