John Ackerley Joins MiMentor As Coach Mentor
MiMentor is proud to announce the addition of John Ackerley as a Coach Mentor. John will draw on his extensive experience in education, coaching, mentoring and leadership within sport to deliver mentoring and leadership content.
With over 26 years of experience, John is an accomplished educator. He holds a master’s degree in coaching and mentoring, accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at senior practitioner level. John has worked as a higher education lecturer, teaching leadership and coaching and mentoring practices at Manchester Metropolitan University and Sheffield Hallam University.
Ackerley shares that “having been a teacher and an accredited executive coach/mentor I understand the need for an individualised approach to support people to develop. I also believe, through experience, that each person has the internal capacity to develop if given the right environment within to grow in, this belief forms the basis of my approach to mentoring.”
John has an extensive list of clients including the Football Association, the Brazilian National Football Federation (CBF), the Malawi Football Association and the Denmark Football Association, among many others. His experience as a professional sports coach, educator and team leader provides valuable insights and guidance to MiMentor’s platform users.
Ackerley reflects on his MiMentor coach mentoring: “The cohorts I have worked with so far have been delightful. It never ceases to amaze me how people can see the same thing in so many different ways, and that is because we all see things differently! The cohorts have been engaging and their level of experiences has added a richness that I have also learnt much from.”
